Thanks for your interesting newsletter. I am from India which is multi lingual and multi cultural country. There are more than 25 different states with varying customs and traditions. You are right in stating that indians prefer eating with hand. People wash hands before and after eating. We indian use our right hand when giving or accepting any object. Using both hands is even more respectful.

Sitting higher than elders is considered impolite. Punctuality is not a big thing to be concerned. Indian have relaxed approach towards timekeeping. Arriving 30 minutes to 1 hour late is common.

India is a multi religious country and religion influences the culture. One has to leave the footwear before entering mosque or Temple. Some religious places require you to cover head before entering.
